Tuesday 30th September, 2014

Today we had our first seminar as a group on the subject 'What is craft?' I found the discussion interesting as everyone inputted into the conversation about their views on Cerys' slideshow.

I also received my first brief called 'Oblique Strategies' which is a concept created by Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt involving cards with a series of remarks or phrases stated on them.

The great thing about these cards is you can use them throughout whatever you do! whether that is; art, music, day-to-day life or motivation!

We were asked to pick one and could only swap twice before we were stuck with the last card or until we were happy. My card read "Are there sections? Consider transitions". Right now this is still fresh in my mind and I'm jotting ideas down, the great thing about this brief is we're assigned to only make machetes, samples and design sheets, which will help me get back into the swing of developing my work rather than dwelling on a final piece.

I have found the site where you can receive virtual remarks and phrases!http://stoney.sb.org/eno/oblique.html check it out!
